Out of the Ashes

The battlefield is now deserted, but the smoke of spent gunfire lingers in the morning mist. Underfoot, the earth is softened with the blood of Democracy’s wounds. The brazenly triumphant Warrior King calls for peace, but few of his former enemies, deceived countless times already, risk trusting his empty promises. It is time to take to the hills and regroup for another day. As has been shown throughout the ages, when battling a foe with superior force and overwhelming odds, a guerilla war with focused goals and cunning strategy is the only path of resistance.

The first such strategic assault must be about the voting procedures. If left as they are, our democracy is doomed. We must demand voting legislation that includes paper trails for all machines nationally, mandated recounts if the voting tally varies from the exit polls by more than .3%, and a mandated number of machines and poll workers per population. As the stories of voting irregularities and outright fraud begin to cascade through the media over the coming days, we can use this travesty to garner support. Our representatives in Congress should be pressured to do everything, including a permanent filibuster, to make this happen. If necessary, national strikes and boycotts of GOP corporate supporters are also an option. We need crystal clear talking points and a disciplined message to saturate the news media and fan the flames. Republicans can be portrayed as anti-democracy if they oppose us. At this dangerous juncture, an aggressive, targeted assault that will safeguard our future is the only sane path.

Despite his glorious and likely fraudulent victory, George Bush is under some difficult planetary configurations at present. I took these to indicate his failure to win the presidency, but it would seem they indicate instead a very burdensome and troubled time for his administration. One can hope the cries of fraud will reach a fevered pitch and forever tarnish, if not topple, his tenure. Minimally, they should cast a dark shadow and enable significant possibilities in voting reform. The coming battle in Iraq to secure Fallujah may also be tainted by the difficult aspects in the Bush and Inaugural charts in the coming weeks. From November 8 through December 7, Saturn will recross Bush’s natal Saturn, square his progressed Venus, and cross the Inaugural IC. Something will weigh heavily upon him and not unfold to his liking. With the last phase of Pluto opposing the US Mars continuing through November 25, Bush’s troubles would seem to be connected to our increased military aggression and the partisan civil war that continues unabated (currently exacerbated by the voting fraud scandal).

Unfortunately, the Neptune transit, quincunx the US Sun since late July and continuing through December 13, 2004, has been taking us all for a ride. On the left, expectations of freedom from the Bush Mafia and its stranglehold over our government were endemic. But we were sabotaged by the potent hypnotic spell of the Rovian juggernaut and duped with voter fraud. On the right, wild fantasies of a president chosen by God and unfounded fears of a raving jihadist under every bed led to a vote that largely ignored the profound failures and dishonesty in the Oval Office. Neptune, the deceiver that creates a false reality out of smoke and mirrors, has addled our brains. When the fog lifts over America by mid-December, we may belatedly discover a deceptive and dishonest administration and a deep sadness within ourselves. The confusion and scandal of Neptune will hover around Bush through January 2005 as Neptune quincunxes his Sun and then squares the Inaugural Ascendant. Dishonesty and scandal may be pervasive, but it will be too late to do anything. Our national sadness will be mirrored in the progressed US Moon square to Saturn from 12/14/04 through 1/14/05 and Saturn's crossing of Mercury in early January 2005. Further economic woes are also a possiblity at that time.

The coming Inaugural chart is very different than the one for the first Bush administration. Whereas that one indicates a government that is belligerent, angry, and very controlling, this one suggests one beset with frustration and weary struggle. Saturn squares Jupiter, quincunxes Pluto, opposes Venus, Mercury, the MC, and the Sun, squares the Nodes, and semisquares the Moon. It will seem almost impossible for Bush to escape from the burdens and weight of reality. The first dramatic challenge of the next administration will come when Uranus opposes’s Bush's Mars, squares the Inaugural Moon, and squares the US Uranus simultaneously beginning in late March and early April 2005. The Commander-in-Chief may face some kind of unexpected rebellion from the people and the press that will infuriate him. Stay tuned.

A Note to My Readers

I want to thank you all for the tremendous outpouring of support I received after this abysmal election. I was utterly shocked that my reading of the situation had been so off, but your very kind and supportive words got me over the hump and back to work. I am profoundly grateful.
